Block 2, 2023 is now open for booking. Our new term starts next week and our theme is “Rhythms of Life” inspired by the Yoga Sutra 1.36: Viśokā vā jyotismatī – Or by concentrating on the supreme, ever blissful Light within. There will be different practices to suit each individual class but this theme will unite us as a group. Please note the slightly later start time, 7pm for Tuesday Evening Flow Yoga and new YOGA class starting at 5.30pm on Tuesdays

BLOCK 2, 2023 – Rhythms Of Life

Inspired by the The Sūtras of Patanjali 1.36 – “When we enquire into what life is and what keeps us alive, we may find some solace for our mental distractions”
One of the greatest mysteries of life is life itself. Consideration of things greater than our individual selves helps put ourselves in perspective.

ON OUR MATS: The more difficult a thing is, the more it require softness. When we encounter a difficult person, or situation, or asana, we often respond with hardness. In your practice this week, choose a difficult pose and approach it with both mental and physical softness. Become like the water that flows around a boulder, gently washing against its edges.

LIVING OUR YOGA: “You can imagine a brilliant divine light which is beyond all anxieties, fear and worry – a supreme Light in you. Visualise a brilliant globe in your heart representing your Divine Consciousness. Or imagine your heart to contain a beautiful glowing lotus. The mind will easily get absorbed in that, and you will have a nice experience. In the beginning one has to imagine this Light, which later becomes a reality.” Translation of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra 1.36 by Sri Swami Satchidananda.
