Dear all,
I hope you are enjoying some peace and rest over the holiday period and finding joy too.
Yoga classes resume this Saturday with a limited timetable going into next week. All private and corporate classes are running as usual as are classes at Space to Breathe, in addition, I’m teaching a New Years Day class there from 10.30am to 11.45am. I’ll be running a one off class at Studio Bhāvanā (and via Zoom) for those who are keen to get back to a communal yoga experience – Wednesday 3rd January from 9.15am to 10.30am, contact me in the usual ways to check availability and to book (PAYG £12).

Our full schedule resumes on the 8th January  with the commencement of Block1, 2024 “You Are Worthy”, now open for booking. In this block we will explore the concept of Purusa – your true nature.
I look forward to seeing you back in class.

Shine well sweet souls.Namaste,Kim xx

Block 1, 2024

Yoga can sometimes be difficult and demanding. The practice asks you to face your pain and make no pretence of strength where you have none. Expose the raw truth of your unedited self (sometimes too much to bear!). Leave nothing hidden and keep nothing tucked away in a dark corner of the mind. See clearly through the mirror of life reflected back to you in your actions, thoughts and deeds. Everyone who commits to the sincere practice of yoga has experienced the nearly intangible, ineffable realm of the spirit. It is not the poses that heal, nor is it the technique that liberates. Instead, yoga is a bridge of experience. The subtlety of the spirit cannot be intellectualised, but it can be felt through the channel of the heart. It is most often pain and suffering that crack the surface level of personality just enough to let the spirit shine through. The whole path of yoga can be understood as a vehicle for you to experience your true nature, or purusa.

Inspiration comes from the The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali – 2.14 Te hlāda paritāpa phalāh punyāpunya hetutvāt – The karmas bear fruits of pleasure and pain caused by merit and demerit.’If you have done something meritorious, you experience pleasure and happiness: if wrong things, suffering. A happy or unhappy life is your own creation. Nobody else is responsible. If you remember this, you won’t find fault with anybody. You are your own best friend as well as your own worst enemy.”
